Today we approximated the value of Pi by measuring the Diameter and Circumference of a Circle. We found that if we divide the Circumference by the Diameter we get a number near 3.1 this is Pi.

We then looked at some questions relating to Section 3.6 Circumference and Area of Circles.

Today we looked at a number of parallelogram questions from 6.2. 

HW: Finish 6.2 Q.9 on Parallelograms and Disc Activity as below.

After correcting HW from Section 6.1 we started 6.2 looking at area of parallelograms.

Today we looked at 6.1 Revision of Area and Perimeter.

Today we discussed bias in sampling. This might be caused by:

• The sample being non-random
• A small sample
• Leading questions
• Dishonesty
• Perhaps not using a 'Blind Test'

Today we completed our mid-term test with a question on sets. The question and solution is uploaded below.

In Section 5.1 Types of data we distinguished between the two types of Categorical data - Nominal and Ordinal. We also discussed 'good' questionnaires, 'bias' and the distinction between Primary and Secondary Sources of Data.
