Today we looked at Changing the Subject of a Formula. A formula is an equation, which has a LHS = RHS. The rule is always do the same thing to both sides, you can:

Today after looking at a few simultaneous equations involving fractions we started coordinate geometry of the line. The syllabus in this area is fairly short (as below).  The formulae (except m = -a/b) are given in the maths tables (as below).  To practice what we did today try the questions below 1. The Coordinate Plane  2. Finding the midpoint.  3. Finding the slope given 2 points  4. Finding the slope from a graph  5. Finding the slope given the equation of a line   6. Finding the distance between two points.  7. Finding the equation of a line from a graph  8. Finding the equation of a line given its slope and a point on the line.  9. Finding the equation of a line given two points on the line.  10. Finding the point of intersection of two lines.  Today we looked at solving simultaneous equations.

Today we looked at 2012 Questions on Ratio and Currency Exchange (These are published below with linked solutions to each part.) We then looked at Inequalities.
