Today we looked at Changing the Subject of a Formula. A formula is an equation, which has a LHS = RHS. The rule is always do the same thing to both sides, you can:
  • multiply both sides by the same amount
  • divide both sides by the same amount
  • subtract the same amount from both sides
  • add the same amount to both sides
  • square both sides
  • square root both sides
  • swap sides

These questions may also require you to Factorise to isolate a variable.

Today after looking at a few simultaneous equations involving fractions we started coordinate geometry of the line. The syllabus in this area is fairly short (as below).
